Detonation Day- recording update

Posted: February 21, 2016 in Uncategorized

Double EP

On Saturday February 13th at 8pm, the final track for Detonation Day was recorded! Anyone who knows me will know how long and hard I’ve been working on it, but I haven’t really been updating here the full extent of the struggle to complete this project.  I’ve been updating via video blog, which I’ve never actually done anything with, but which I may edit into a little documentary, even just for my own nostalgia.  But I digress. I’ve had many many many speedbumps along the road, some of which I thought would stall my progress on Detonation Day.  I considered parking the project, and at times, even scrapping it for good.

Fortunately, I’m an incredibly pig-headed individual, and I won’t give up on something I want without a raging fight.  Through wave after wave of shit that came my way, I resolved to work harder than I ever had on anything (except Empire Evolution of course) and the six punk-poems for one of my proudest creations, Detonation Day, are recorded and are currently in production.  I am grateful to everyone who helped and supported this journey, and when I hold the physical copy of Detonation Day in my hands, it’ll be one of my proudest achievements- my first professionally recorded EP.  I’ve already designed and created the front cover but I still need to finish the artwork.  Once the tracks are produced, and the artwork’s finished, I’ll be sending it off to get manufactured.  I’m aiming to release both Barbed-Wire Cage and Detonation Day (as a double EP) at a launch in late April- provisionally the 29th, but we’ll see how that works out.

For the meantime, here’s what the cover will look like set against the cover of Barbed-Wire Cage, and I extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who assisted and encouraged me on this venture, everyone who promoted me and gave me opportunities to showcase my work, everyone who liked and shared on Facebook, Soundcloud and Twitter, and to everyone who believed I could make it to the finish line of this mad project. It’s far from ready for public consumption, but the hardest part is over.  🙂
